That's why it is a very strong resistance point. If you look back to last week when the sp hit 5.3 or 200 day MA the sp got rejected and pushed back down to mid 4's...
As you said if it breaks above and holds the 200 MA that should become a solid support and the sp should move to 6's in quick time IMO..
Let's see how today's action play's out...
