I am not sure that a gambling business contributes anything to the country. Packer kept his tax low through use of elaborate schemes the best money could buy, legal yes, ethical I would say no...so yes perhaps it's time to simplify the tax system so the playing field is leveled.
I would call a well structured mining superprofits tax fair, getting back on topic. Unfortunately Swan didn't design one.
