There's a good chance that it's in the interests of federal Labor for the state government in Qld to be defeated. The ALP in NSW were annihilated in NSW only 12 months ago, and with each passing day the Liberal government are looking increasingly like 1 termers. My understanding is that the Liberal government in Victoria has hardly hit the ground running either. In WA the state government has turned a slew of ALP surpules into debt and deficit. One more unpopular Liberal state government in Qld will enhance the likelihood of the ALP being returned federally.
