I have to say I am unconvinced with the "fast food"/"lack of exercise" reason.
I have been around for 63 years.
I saw a photo recently of about 20 12 year old kids at the beach when I was the same age. They were all skinny, their ribs were showing.
Do you know what we ate back then?
Well we ate fried egss on fried bread with bacon and chops for breakfast.
We had mutton almost every day, fatty of cooked in fat.
We ate stacks of bread lathered with butter etc.
Home made biscuits and cakes were standard fare every day.
Sure, we were perhaps more active as children, somewhat.
You didn't see adults jogging or walking etc.
So I am unconvinced diet and exercise are the simple answer.
Some have suggested it is intestinal bacteria that has changed.
Some say it is a virus.
Could it be something as simple as Flouride or some other thing added to our intake.
Maybe its a simple as our kids no longer have intestinal worms. Worms are great for many with intestinal "problems".
I suspect an answer will be found that suggest it is not as simple as poor diet.
