The branding is very strong. Ask anyone in Melbourne about where to buy a tv, DVD etc and they will all say "go to jb".
It really does have a strong reputation for a deal and many don't even bother going elsewhere.
I have been looking at tv pricing from online retailers (ie those with no shop presence or simply just a wharehouse), and it seems evident to me that their prices are much higher than jb's advertised prices. And we all know that no-one pays jb's advertised price anyway, so obviously the volume discounts they receive from manufacturers is significant.
I don't thing we will see a catalyst until they next update the market. I think they will surprise and will announce a number initiatives to further drive growth.
With dick smith beaten off, they will be in an even more powerful position to negotiate terms with suppliers.
