re: wild leased here you go terrorism apologists I think this matter is being "over" discussed.

Soldiers have kids at home and by handing out sweets if may give them a feeling that indirectly they are in touch.

Or they may well have felt sorry for them as well. I take it that these kids would be living in rough conditions caused by the war.

It is not uncommon to do that by soldiers.

As soldiers trying to avoid danger by having the kids around them, please tell that to the marines!

There were enough places to hide if they wanted to. After all, they didn't all have to stay in that vehicle.

I was in the army as well but this is the biggest demoralizing nonsense I have ever come across:

Soldiers with weapons and being well trained using children to hide behind.

What may have happened is that these soldiers may have pastrolled the area a few times and so came to know the kids.
