is muddles paranoid?

Hardmanites am I being paranoid? I believe Simon Potter did not make an error on Thursday when he divulged to the Journalist that the Tiof field would be declared commercial. He is a top echelon executive who learned the cut and thrust of the oil business with BP.
Simon said Tiof would be commercial next month,Chinguetti would start sooner than expected and most importantly that British Gas have takeover aspirations and he strongly hinted that HDR was a target. Our Managing Director has only been with HDR for 6 months. He resigned from an Executive Position with BP to be a MD of a junior oiler (albeit with huge potential). It would be a serious setback for his career to lose this Position after such a short time without proving himself capable of running the company.
Now WPL have a 10% shareholding of HDR. Does Simon know or strongly suspect that BG are talking to WPL about their intentions should a T/O occur. Is WPL's 10% for sale to the right buyer?
My view is that Simon does not think that WPL is a protective big brother. Arya's post on Friday spelt out quite clearly what occurred in the PreOpen and Trading Halt. I'm convinced there were heated frank and open exchanges of views before Simon issued the Retraction (which wasn't a retraction). This was followed by a very terse statement from WPL.
I believe that Simon is convinced that pre T/O machinations by BG are happening NOW and that WPL are involved in some way. How best to defend against a T/O? Get the Share Price up so that HDR is way to costly to justify the exercise no matter what damage is sustained to the Joint Venture relationship.
Hardmanites I believe the first skirmish of this T/O occurred on Thursday. Hopefully all the above are foolish thoughts of a muddled man. Please put me out of my misery. Comments please but be warned I won't reply to rubbish!
