Qld Politics 101- The Liberals are not the dominant Conservative Party in Qld. They think they are,they want to be and they vie for the Swinging Voter with the ALP but historically they also vie with the Nationals to stand in various electorates. They [the Nats and Libs] try not to engage in 3 Corner Contests. The Libs and Nats argue,disagree on which party should stand in various populated areas such as the North and Sth Coast and various Regional Centres in the North.
Zonetrader to the Qld Nationals every electrorate outside of Brisbane is Theirs.The Brisbane City Fringe Pine Rivers,Albert Logan, etc etc the Nationals expect to represent. This causes tension.The Liberal Heirachy don't agree and well nothing really has been resolved by this cobbled together LNP jive.
in fact,imho Campbell Newman has just the right "character" for really hardening the National's Resolve to whip the Liberal Party back into line as the junior,policy follower not maker.
some boy or sheila from the Bush is coming to town to tunnel under Campbell showing what only a Country Party National Can Do.
go on you have to admit like a lot of politicans Newman has small man syndrome. Didn't I read Jeff Seeney is some self made Millionaire? No doubt there's plenty of Profiles coming out soon.
