IMO the first time we should hear about a JV/Farm-in/Farm-out et al is on the announcement of a signed MOU or Agreement. We should not hear along the way about what is happening - we can't.

I believe that you can have several stages of "results" before you reach a "conclusion". You can have outcomes along the way which aren't yet available for communiation - even a MOU might not be at the stage where it is ready to go from Sensitive to Public information.

Unfortunately all we can do is have patience. And of course, we must assume that the company is trying to put a positive spin on it - that is part of their job.
