Was reading some nasdaq stuff earlier following Voltaire's APPL post yesterday. What happens when a single stock holds too much weight? They re-balance. This means Apple could grow like it has and take the index up, but after a couple of 're-balances' if it goes belly up overnight it won't take the index down by the same amount.
Makes no sense to me at all. Not much does but.
