All politicians lie. If they didn't they would never get elected. On the rare occasions one tells the UGLY truth they are pilloried.
Would you care to list the financial stuff-ups of this government? Your post would need to be twice that long, but I don't have access to Lib party HQ so I can't do so myself.
Maybe start with today's stuff up on the broadcasting tender and work back. There is certainly fertile ground.
