Basing it on pre-existing holdings is fine. Issuing 4 shares is pretty ludicrous.
Why am I upset? Well I trade shares for money see. When I enter a trade it is for the purpose of making a profit - not sure why you trade? Of course I want to make $3-4 profit! However this SPP turned out to be a huge waste of time.
