It has been suggested that the board has only done the deal with Clive Palmer to save their own necks. I am not sure I agree with that view, given the initial dispute with JH and the board was about opening up the company to get more $$'s in. Clive coming in is to me is a far better option than pattersons, who buy at a discount then dump immeidately driving the price down sometimes below the buy prices so they can take their money and run. Clive Palmer does not need to play nickel and dime games with CTP. His into coal and we have lots of coal, oil and helium may also be of interest to him. So Clive coming in is in my mind a huge bonus for CTP who have been trying to sell themselves on every street corner for years with no takers. It would be nice if Clive took a more active interest in CTP and if JH could live on in some other capacity so that we do not totally loose his knowledge and experience. I dont know if the board is good or bad but I feel the selling of shares with or without options to CP is a real positive step in the right direction, i.e. I prefer 1.2billion shares at 10.5c to 1billion shares at 5cents.
