Amcor Limited (ASX:AMC) has acquired the Aluprint tobacco packaging plant in Mexico for $US40 million.
The announcement follows Amcor’s recently purchased tobacco packaging operation in Argentina.
Amcor’s MD says the acquisition represents its strategy to expand into Latin America.
The packaging business in Mexico has sales of $US30 million.
Amcor reported a net profit of $215.6 million in the first half of its 2012 financial year.
