Randgold: Mali coup didn't affect gold output

In a statement dated Monday, the company said disruptions following that coup had not affected its gold production in Mali. Over the weekend, the military junta announced it will reinstate the constitution, after Amadou Toumani Toure resigned, with an interim president announced to manage the country's return to democracy. Randgold owns and operates the Loulo/Gounkoto mine complex in Mali and also operates Morila, a joint venture with AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. /quotes/zigman/223116/quotes/nls/au AU -0.12% . Mark Bristow, Randgold's chief executive, said the group has operated without any disruption throughout the crisis. "Our production guidance for 2012 remains unchanged, although we have not completed our assessment of the impact this situation has had on costs. We will monitor the implementation of the political settlement by the relevant parties, and give
the market a full update when we report our first quarter results on 3 May," he said
