Hi nectar38. I don't doubt for a moment that New Guinea is loaded with fantastic mining potential and that fortunes have and will be made.
That said, for my attitude to risk, NG represents a bridge too far. Call it sovereign risk, volatile government and local conditions, lawlessness, cargo cult...call it what you wish but I try to learn from my market experiences and my experiences in New Guinea and not the least with Carpeneter Pacific at the time it was involved with Mt Kare taught me that the mining game was risky enough without adding the sovereign risk component.
For the same reason, I no longer buy stock in any company mining in Indonesia.
