what the fool doesn't understand is that retail figures are not always a sign of economic health.
the retail figures were buoyant before lehman brothers collapsed and the market went into a downward spiral.
of course, now in a low interest rate environment, some of those who own their own homes have been borrowing against their homes to go buy apples, yet somehow that equates to economic health? go figure the logic of anybody using that as an argument.
