Fellow investors,
I was given this link to a recent paper on coal demand given by exec of Arch Coal in the US. It outlines their strategy for entering the seaborne trade. Thought some of you may be interested in some of their research, particularly in regard to thermal coal plants currently under construction throughout the world and due to be online by 2015 ie 288GW requiring 950Mt of thermal with another 200GW planned.
I have posted on BND forum as their operations have the same timeframe. Slides 12-14 outline the huge shortfalls in seaborne coal to be witnessed in the next few years. Interesting comments on on slide 14 regarding Australias ability to tap into this!
