I would like to know in which direction the two synclines run. I guess they are from the top of the hill, one supposedly running from BT01 to BTE001, and one from BT01 to the NE of the tenement given the original drilling plan.
Unfortunately I don't see it being an open cut mine but Im happy to be proven wrong.
There is nothing wrong with finding the edge of the deposit. Unfortunately the geophysics have been unreliable so trying to find an edge based on that data is inherently risky. If they step out from BTE001, they have a higher chance of finding coal and will eventually find the edge of the deposit.
It just makes more sense to start from your original hit and work out. Nothing wrong with sinking a few holes here and there but the majority have returned duds so they should revise their drilling plan ASAP.
