Australian shares set to open lower; NZ shares fall

April 26 (Reuters) - Australian shares were poised to open lower on Friday on a mixed bag of U.S. corporate earnings while cooler-than-expected economic growth further dampened investors' hopes of early rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.

The local share price index futures YAPcm1 fell 0.3%, a 67-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index (xjo) close. The benchmark closed flat on Wednesday.

New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index (nz50) fell 0.2% by 2223 GMT.
