Totally can understand how this is a problem that needs to be addressed, but until we see ASIC conduct and complete a single successful prosecution I don't think that the pump'n dump crew even need to worry about this, its not like ASIC are going to investigate let alone attempt a prosecution, and then they will find out that a lot of this is offshore and thus outside their jurisdiction anyway.

For ASIC to complete a successful prosecution they will first have to overcome the hurdle of getting twitter/hot copper/facebook etc and other social media companies to give over all the private information of their users, which would be close to a decade in the courts just to fight all that all the way through to completion.
