In balancing the budget I note most here talk about only spending cuts (as against my view need to address both the revenue and spending side) that relate to the removal of many of Costello's go forth and breed measures (that budget was about addressing ageing/low birth rate as an economic rather than social problem). Cutting those, whilst not addressing housing affotrdability here, will result in less kids (and women leaving the workforce) and immigration will become the only realiace for increasing pop. That is just a view I have (as per my comments in other threads). Yeah, if we need immigration I would want proper paperwork before entry and first crime out - the only way to prevent nutjobs getting in.
