what is funny is that Tesla achievements are a fast moving target. Tesla is making progress as a start-up innovative company, unlike big bureacratic slow risk-averse corporations.
Take for example acceleration : Tesla Model S 5 years ago in 2012 was capable of 4.4 sec 0 to 60, today it is 2.3 seconds !!! and has dual motor 4wheel drive. Other competing manufacturers to tesla are still targeting the old 3sec-4sec 0-60 time spec (including a porsche electric car which is funny compared to a sedan tesla model s family car)...
same for battery size, Tesla models started with 80kwh battery, they are now at 100kwh battery....
or auto pilot progress....etc.

It is a nightmare for car manufacturers. Nothing more difficult in business than competing with a super fast moving target. some old car manufacturers could be just left in the dust if they dont adapt "less slowly".
