Mr Gitt was certainly wearing his rose coloured glasses when he made that list up. For instance 370X less land, the only "land" a turbine occupies that can't be used for anything else is the few m2 that the tower stands on, the footing is covered with soil that can be used for other purposes and the access roads are multi purpose as well so those areas shouldn't be used in the calculation of the land "used" for a turbine. I read through his diatribe on "X" and IMO he certainly seems to be an "influencer" on behalf of the Gas industry.
The answer for our future generation needs isn't one type or the other, it is all types of generation and storage. Wind, Solar and Hydro for fossil free generation, Batteries, Pumped Hydro and other Gravity Storage to smooth out the short term spikes and troughs then Gas for the longer duration solar and/or wind deficits.
