I am certainly no supporter of the Labor party and have zero confidence in, or support for, the government, but I can see that a 3% increase - which has been announced - would produce an annual increase of $436 as that would imply that the underlying pre-increase premium would be $14,533 pa. $279pw.
Now I'm an old bloke, family all grown up, but I'm damned if I can believe my adult kids (with their husbands & kids) are presently paying $279 per week for health insurance.
I have not watched tonight's South-West-Sydney News on Sydney's Channel 7 or 9 so may have missed the "explanation" in between the breaking news about drive-by shootings, drug bust, or (gasp) Rugby League ..........
