I'm not I can accept your explanation. If I submit an order before the close, it will get executed. I did this once at 3:59:59, purely by accident.

If I submit it after the close, it will be rejected.

Orders that are way above or below the last sale are always appearing in the 10 minute period between 4.00 and 4.10. Especially for large cap fluid stocks.

Do professional traders/brokers have some ability to delay their orders that we amateurs lack. And for what reason?
