re: spp announcement gives hints
ds , my reading has always been circa 50~100bcf total in the shallow zones , its good to see some numbers put on these 'plays' by the Co. The 'deeps' at JH1-1 found 6 seperate gas and oil zones in the Monterey and Reef Ridge formations and it is these zones that have the real potential for 'hundreds of BCF gas' plus 10~100m bbls black stuff.
Lets all remind ourselves that we are NOT drilling in Angola , or Mauratania or even offshore anywhere!
We are smack in the middle of some of the largest producing fields in the Lower 48 .... and apparently on top of the same highly productive anticline as the giant Lost Hills field nearby ...and at the front door of the best energy market in the world (US$7.20/mcfg currently).
The only real risk I can see is tight formations , however modern drilling technology has largely overcome these difficulties , albeit , with more expense.
Thats a risk I'm prepared to take ........ in large licks LOL
