With the emergence of large markets for black coal in Japan
in the 1960s Japan had an increasing demand for the mineral. Austarlia had the experience needed to find and develop new deposits to meet the demand, but ramping-up, eventually brought the price down because there were oversupply, it worked for Japan with coal, and China is doing the same thing with iron ore.
TTY will need to find more reserves to stay competitive.
