Your comment ignores the track record of five of the six State Premiers who enjoy placing us in lockdown, and in Victoria's case, even imposing a curfew at one stage. Victoria ('Locktoria') had a 112 day lockdown among its four thus far. NSW's Gladys Berejiklian is the only one who believes in giving citizens maximum economic and social freedoms, but even she's succumbed to a Greater Sydney et al minimum fortnight's lockdown (though she doesn't use that word).

Virus elimination strategies pursued by each state and territory won't work, as we'll be having 'cases' for a fair time to come, including if and when our island continent opens to international travellers whether foreigners or returning Australian citizens/permanent residents.
