I use a keltner channel setup
It has to hit the bottom of the channel & then when it bounces, fail to get above the 20ema
I've posted a 5min chart for you to see my reasoning (from last week when I was trying to short end of month)
Green box didn't fail the backtest
Red box did

It's not an exact science but the 15min & hrly charts are best for me to read bullish charts
If the 5min can't make new lows & it's still trading above the 15min/ hrly chart ema, then we have a bull chart

When the xjo keeps such a tight range intraday, the biggest range we can get is after hours to adjust for the next session
