Yep PLV HCC fob DBCT has fallen from over US$500/t to about US$420/t today. And met coal is almost at parity to thermal Newc. Fall has been correlated to this IMO.
Margins are good when PLV HCC >$200/t, great when above >$250/t and super sized when >$300/t - so not worried by the price movements yet.
what will be interesting is whether thermal coal become higher value then met coal - that would be unprecedented. Could become a reality given the terrible energy policies of the western world… time will tell
