In this day and age, if you have a good knowledge base and internet search skills, it's pretty simple to get ahead of brokers in the information stakes.
The best example was probably here, where Miningnut broke the story on exactly who Nido's partners were in Galoc.
I dont see anything in the post you replied to that smells of anything other than good research.
