Bigal,
I like your work too. Congrats on the profitable trade. You at least clearly explain your position and I encourage everyone posting to HC to rise to your standards.
RE BHP "rumour" I would like to point out that I see it as a scenario in a range of possible scenarios for Arckaringa. I merely shared why I though such a tie up would make a lot of sense. I still think BHP will have a close look at Arckaringa and there is a possibility that something might happen but thats about as far as I have gone.
Later the media started reporting some kind of link between Linc and BHP (BMA) at Gregory Crinim and it was Peter Bond that said in a response to speculation:
QUOTE
To facilitate the divestment or demerger of its Coal Division, Linc Energy is continuing to evaluate a number of options, including the possibility of working with joint venture partners who have synergies with Linc Energy's existing coal portfolio.
ENDQUOTE
So independant of Arckaringa (or not) Linc and BHP group are seemingly considering JV opportunities where synergies exist. That is positive for the relationship between the two companies. I hope that translates to Arckaringa but if a better deal comes from overseas such as conoco phillips (who are also in the Umiat area) thats OK too.
As I said in my earlier post if Arckaringa pans out it swamps the value of everything else. You could write the net value of everything else off to zero and still be conservative value at $5 per share IMO if the low end of analyst estimates translates to recoverable oil.
Always risk but I like the way Linc is going in 2013. The SP is what it is and represents great LT opportunity right now. ST is another matter and the price is "volatile" but the dips are fantastic opportunities if you time your buy well.
