Top talent coming on board is important for all the obvious reasons but a couple less considered is reputational management and time. Successful people schmooze in high circles and they don't like to be the joke of the party. It's just human nature so they're careful about what they pick. And if you've got all the cash you'll ever need, you don't want to fritter away those ticking hours on some dog in the back of beyond. The vibe has to be there for them. It's got to be exciting. And given their expertise, if they're sold then so am I.
