Well ... too much gearing it relative to time, as this market has shown.
I have no idea when the facilty was put in place, but when the SP was say $10 gearing might have been comfortably low. SP of $3.50 or $2.50 is clearly different.
I guess this whole market has shown that, if gearing is used, then a diversified portfolio is clearly a must. Also, if potentially volatile stocks are included in the portfolio they should be a very small part of it.
I'm glad that I got rid of my holding something over $3.80 on aggregate. As much as I do think AFG will be a strong performer over the coming years the volatility was too much for my comfort. Happy to wait and assess things over the next 12 months before I put money in again, assuming I do, even if I have to pay a high price than I exited.
