It is still much cheaper for Gas than coals when transport & handling, safety and environmental factors are taken into consideration.
Burning coals are poor man tech for power generation. The Japanese Gov trades in Nuke for Gas burner.
Have you ever worked in those high rise building in China, Beijing for that matter ?. You can even see fine coal dirt and carbon smoke stick on those windows and screen. Office workers are blaming coals burning and diesel fume. I can see the gas trend merging in China over the next 10 years
