Ahh - don't you just love semantics. I was, of course, referring to the average buy price of currently held shares.

Looking at "overall" average is pretty useless, as that fails to take into account shares sold at a profit. If you're going to look at the complete cost vs profit from initial buy to final sell, then profits have to be taken into account as well. Which seems to me to be an exercise that only makes sense once you've sold out of a share completely.

When most people talk about their average buy price, they would be referring to the average buy price of their current holdings, I would think. I certainly use it that way.

But enough of the semantics. I agree that this MAY just be the breakout we've been waiting for - fingers crossed ;)
