Hi @Joannie, there is some really good stuff out there about the importance of building strong emotional discipline to go hand-in-hand with investment strategy. History shows time and time again that one doesn’t work without the other.

You might find this article a useful starting point if you want to learn more:

    https://www.morganstanley.com.au/ideas/avoiding-emotional-investing

IOU is a great example of this. There are heaps of people that thought the business was a great buy at 50c or 60c. The irony is now exactly the same business is being offered to them at a much cheaper price, and they don’t want it. Many hugely successful investors have pointed out over time that your average punter only wants to buy a business when the share price is going up - i.e. when it’s most expensive - because they mistakenly believe that’s the only indicator of success. Those same people then run for the hills if the share price goes down, even though the business is fundamentally unchanged.

If you find yourself prone to anxiety, as you mentioned earlier, then reading and understanding more about how emotion can detrimentally affect your investment choices is a really good idea, IMO.

Hope that article is a useful start and all the best.
