Probably fair comments @The Stig. I have been thinking a bit more that way more of late: the lack of announcements for long periods of time means that when they do finally come, they tend to result in short-term 'sugar hits', where the SP jumps but then is pulled back by daytraders (and previous bagholders who have lost patience and sell into any news).
That said, I do find when casting my own research net far and wide, that some of the best LT performing companies have the quietest HotCopper pages....
