Southeast Asia is prime for BNPL boom over the next five years. We have the Australian government clamping down on it (for good reason imo) and the Malaysian government talking about how BNPL will help the economy recover post Covid. Two completely different takes on what the industry will do for the respective countries. I'm not opposed to regulations in Australia. Our culture is very debt driven, having to buy things now rather than showing patience and saving. Plus if you don't manage your own superannuation it's a fact that you'll at least have one or more of the big banks in your portfolio. If the government wants to "help" them then I'm ok with it.
