Yeah Malaysians hate shopping definitely no good shopping there, probably no shopping districts or large malls... Too conservative to buy nice things in Malaysia, great insight there. Definitely wouldn't travel specifically to KL to shop... Probably nowhere to go??? Strict societal standards would definitely hamper people going overboard with this crazy consumerism you talk of. Don't forget the other ethnic groups in Malaysia, the chinese and indian communities they hate buying things too. What middle class? Probably shrinking.
