The major shareholders are not hurting... they are usually companies and the decision-makers therein are playing with 'other people's money' and themselves collecting good salaries and hefty bonuses often regardless of the how well they perform!

Unfortunately this is the story now-a-days with most public listed companies and institutional investors!!!
