For $400k detached house, you'd probably need to go way way, way up beyond the mountains.
About 3 years ago houses in the Blue Mountains lists at some $400k... They're all about $600 to $800k now. The ones or twos that list for $550k goes within a week. And this is just me scanning the domain site.
