    Im a big fan of the "median" as well. The "average" is a huge distortion.
    The "average" wage is what...$80K? I know a LOT (including myself) below "average" people then.
    The median must be what......$50 - $55K?

    People on a median income would struggle to pay rent and save a 10% deposit unless they lived well out of town. Of course then the jobs are limited.

    I'd agree that 1 in 3 is under the pump.
    I feel big business is well out of touch with people on a median wage fighting to survive with zero wages growth and electricity, childcare etc going through the roof.

    I think the RBA will be stuck with interest rates for a very long time. Banks will do all the rate increases to manage their profitability and the state of the housing market.
