Let me be more relevant to your comment.In terms of reputational damage to Abbott and how this impacts BUB, the USA have a program that is responsible for supplying formula to parents, it's called the WIC program. The big 4 suppliers bid to be the supplier for each states program, so choice for consumers is then limited to whoever wins the tender for their state. Unless the state drops Abbott, the consumer has no choice but to keep buying their formula if they are the supplier for their state.
However, that is only for those in the program, so there would definitely be other consumers free to make a choice.
Like I said in my first post, this is a great opportunity for brand awareness in the USA, but there are hurdles. Hopefully BUB can take advantage of the resentment of the infant formula cartel that currently monopolise the majority of the market.
