One needs to consider that the electric planes being discussed are actually quite small (only 2600kg or so of payload) and fairly short range ( around 400NM or so).
Freight application would be for time sensitive, high value shipments between relatively close locations. There are turboprop/piston engine planes doing these routes in this application in the US today.
There are not talking about 777 replacement aircraft.
