    Plasmod3,

We've never met and yet you know that I am shortsighted. I wear reading glasses with a -0.5 magnification.

One thing is worse than being short-sighted....Tunnel Vision.

As to whether a bonus or salary is over-inflated, well this is subjective. Even a bonus of many tens of millions of dollars to top-tier executives, or even many tens of millions of dollars to one top-tier executive (in any organisation not just banks) is merely a function of the value that they add, as noted by the share price or otherwise.

As to the golden handshake scenario when a company and its share price get trashed well I do not have an answer for that except to say perhaps Corporate Law and Industrial Relations legislation needs an overall....but I digress.

Your claim that doctors and specialists spend "more than twice their time in uni studying" is unsubstantiated, particularly with reference to study requirements and qualifications of senior executives. Most of teh study a specialist does to become a specialist is practical nad on the job training.

They study for a series of exams called "surgical primaries" and then do "accredited work prgrams for about 4-6 years depending on whether or not the specialist-to-be has a wealthy father who is also a specialist who is a mate of teh specialist-to-be's mentor.

If the docto/specialists work has more value then the medicare schedule should be revised upwards. I have no objection to this. However, medical practitioners work in a totally different and TOTALLY regulated environment. Market forces actually do not apply here Plasmod3, perhaps they should, but in the mean time you should not imply that they do. That was precisely the point of my last post on this subject.

Also, you should familiarise yourself with my other posts. I do not "play speculative stocks". I am not in a sand pit. My belief is High Conviction Value or Growth Investing. Nothing else.

    No hard feelings, cheers.
