    It all depends on how much money you are dealing with?

    Most SPP's don't allot you enough shares to have 100-200 thousand in it.

    It's normally 5-15 thousand.

    Therefore owning just 1 share in each company is really going to get you nowhere.

    Not a very good strategy IMHO.

    I'd never trade based on a possible SPP in any case.
