IMO Net Debt is the real virus that will kill Australia. Our Government is out of control and spending like there's no tomorrow. It's not "Stop the boats" it's "STOP THE SPENDING"
All over a "Killer Virus" that IMO has failed to deliver on the world stage in percentage terms. Does it disappoint all the doomsdayers that despite predictions of full ECU's and mass body bags only 18 people (which is sad and I feel for their families) have died thus far out of a population of 25 million? This is despite the crazy behaviour of our youth partying and swimming in bondi only a week ago. Laast week ago the curve was out of control, now it's flattening too fast. Despite this reckless behaviour the bloody "Curve is Flattening too fast".
"Flatten the Curve" - "Stop the Boats" sound familiar. Both created to scare the public. Call me callous for this attitude but there was no need to embark on this crazy obsession to wreck our way of life and economy. We could have isolated the old and sick, built ventilators, let the Corona Virus wash through Australia, kept our economy healthy and kept a future for our kids.
Can't believe people fall for "We might have a vaccine in a few months time". I hope we do, but odds on we won't. We might have on in 6 months or we still may not have one in 6 years time or 16 years. We will, however, have massive debt. The corona virus has been with us forever and it's not leaving fast. I can't believe there are so many Australians that still believe in the tooth fairy. From my research I just can't see Covid-19 being as lethal as they say. It is natures way of ending the lives of older frail people, and while it may claim a younger life, they will be the exception. Asthma kills 400 to 500 Australians each year. With the current death toll from Covid-19, it may not get anywhere near that figure.
A lot of talk about Covid-19 figures. Australia has 4000 known cases and 18 deaths. Of these 18 sadly most we old and sick. As the Covid-19 for most people goes undetected, the symptoms are that mild, who really knows how many people have been infected. If it's as contagious as they say, there could be another 4,ooo cases we don't know about or 40,000 or 400,000. Without mass testing, we will not know. What we do know is that there have only been 18 deaths. Rest assured every autopsy will include a Covid-19 test. 18 deaths out of 25 million or $16.6666667 billion AUD per life. These are the only real fifures IMO that we currently know.
18 deaths out of 25 million people is only 0.000072% of the Australian population, but everyone is scared. How sad.
How many cancer patients could we save if we spent a fraction of the $300 billion on research and treatment? How many other Australians would benefit from giving them expensive drugs they cannot afford, to relieve their pain or prolong their lives, if we also gave them just a fraction of this staggering figure.
$300 billion kind of rolls off Morrison's tongue like it's nothing. But he has just added an additional $12000 Gov net debt to every Australian, new born babies and the elderly included or $30,000 net debt per worker.
When Labour left power in 2013 Government net debt was 176 billion or $7,600 per person or $18,000 per worker. At the end of the year, with the cost of shutting down our economy, net debt is on target to be $1 trillion which will be the equivalent of $40,000 debt for every person in Australia or a staggering $100,000 net debt per worker.
Don't listen to the TV. Turn around and ask yourself if you directly know someone that has died of corona or is in ECU. I hope you don't but the odds are very, very tiny you do.
Ask yourself how did Prince Charles at 71 years of age walk out of self-isolation after testing positive, in only 7 days. Most posters here on HC would have had him dead at 71. Why are all the 71 year olds in Australia shaking in their boots - Media generated Hysteria and sadly Government generated Hysteria.
Shame on Morrison and his motley crew. I think history will judge Morrison as the Greatist Socialist Leader of all time and this will be the biggest stuff up of all time, that drowned a nation with debt.
Does Morrison see himself as the new Messiah and thinks he's on a blind religious crusade to save Australia. Soon enough Morison will be gone, our kids future will be gone but corona will still be among us. What a waste.
Isn't there someone in our Government with half a brain and the balls to stand up to Morrison and STOP the spending now, open our shops, open cafes open businesses and get Australia back to work before we spend all this money.
Please STOP THE SPENDING and GET AUSTRALIA BACK TO WORK. Get us out of this extremely vulnerable position fast.
