I don't condone violence on either side and there will always be victims. Miko Peled lost a niece to terrorism but it didn't motivate him to push the Ben Gvir/Smortich type of solutions.
As you can reflect upon your personal experiences, your sentiment for revenge is not lost on the relatives of the 30,000 killed, countless dead under rubble, more dead from injuries from the lack of food, medical services, roofs, etc. Basically, more dead on both sides creates a climate of more revenge mutually.
Hamas will not be wiped out because it is a resistance to a foreign occupation. It does not matter if we agree that they are terrorists, freedom fighters, religious ideology, extremists, etc. Israel's response is equally terrorist in definition whether Oct7 was the catalyst or the symptom and equally whether Hamas is also the same occupational symptom.
Without a political solution, the cycle of violence will continue. I suspect it will continue...
On a more serious note, this interview is surprisingly good for both Piers and Mehdi.

For the moms I'll just attend to 2 of your points here. I have no sentiment for revenge. I do however completely understand the Hamas Jihadi mentality and know without a doubt or fear that it is incompatible with that of the west and it's either us or them - I comfortably choose us. Regarding occupation- AlAqsa mosque sits on what? You do know don't you? And as I referenced previously the name Palestine was given to Judea!!
